The first monographic book of the São Paulo plastic artist Caetano de Almeida (b. Campinas (SP), 1964). Through more than 200 works and a comprehensive essay by the critic and curator Paulo Herkenhoff, the publication presents its trajectory of almost three decades of artistic production, marked by the plurality of themes and techniques and the appropriation and reassembling of classic images. Divided into chapters that compose a portrait of the artist's production, the book is organized from the perspective of Herkenhoff, whose dense collection of texts guides the dynamics of the monograph. Thus, the different - and disparate - phases of the painter 's trajectory, such as that of the exhibition Bestiário (1992), are traversed, with works of different formats and styles centered on animals; The series Lusco Fusco (1993), in which the differences of light in adverse conditions of perception are investigated, and the series Ares, begun in 2005, in which the painter uses the pollution of São Paulo, obtained in a studio located in a First floor apartment at the height of the intense traffic of the Minhocão, like pigment for its canvases.
